Threads API data

When you connect your Threads account, we access data through the Meta Threads API in accordance with Meta's Platform Terms. This includes your Threads profile information, post content, engagement metrics, and reply data. We only request permissions necessary to provide the Service's features (e.g. publishing posts, reading insights, managing replies).

3. How we use your data

We process your data for the following purposes:

  • Providing the Service — creating and managing your account, publishing and scheduling posts to Threads, displaying your analytics dashboard, and powering AI-assisted content creation
  • Improving the Service — understanding how features are used so we can make them better, fixing bugs, and developing new functionality
  • Communications — sending you service-related emails (e.g. waitlist updates, account notifications) and, with your consent, product updates
  • Security & compliance — protecting against fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access, and complying with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data to build advertising profiles or serve targeted ads.

4. How we share your data

We only share your data in the following limited circumstances:

  • Meta / Threads — when you publish or schedule content, we transmit that content to Meta via the Threads API on your behalf
  • Service providers — we use Supabase for database storage and authentication, which processes data on our behalf and is contractually required to protect it
  • Legal requirements — we may disclose data if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request

5. Data security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your data, including:

  • All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted using TLS 1.2 or higher
  • Threads API access tokens are stored securely and never exposed to the client
  • Database access is restricted and monitored
  • We conduct regular reviews of our security practices

No system is perfectly secure. If you discover a vulnerability, please contact us at the address below.

6. Data retention & deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing privacy@askwooly.com. Upon receiving a valid deletion request, we will delete your personal data without undue delay, except where retention is required by law.

If Meta requests deletion of data obtained through the Threads API, we will comply promptly in accordance with Meta's Platform Terms.

  • Deletion — request that we delete your personal data
  • Portability — request your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Objection & restriction — object to or request restriction of certain processing
  • Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in section 11 below.

8. Cookies & analytics

We use essential cookies to maintain your session and authentication state. We may also use analytics tools to understand how the Service is used. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

9. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the Service before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
